BEET SMOOTHIE (The BEST ever)

RED BEET SMOOTHIE RECIPE

Made with raw beets, fruit, and greens, this smoothie has been life changing for me!  The energy it gives helps keep me fueled to teach 3-4 hours of fitness classes back to back.  I highly recommend this smoothie for so many reasons but mostly for the nutrition it contains.  Making a batch and storing in airtight mason jars can allow you to grab and go!  I keep mine for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.  You can add fresh ginger, cilantro, jalapeño, etc. to it.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1-2 red beets.  I use RAW beets. (a great way to save time is to cut beets in cubes and store in the freezer to have on hand)
  • 1 Cup berries or mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1-2 Cup kale, beet greens, or spinach
  • 1 grapefruit 
  • 1 small apple, cored.
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 cup  water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)
